The Refuge of ANZAC
We hear a lot in the run up to ANZAC Day about why soldiers fought and died. My impression is that it was so we might live in a country which celebrates the right of everyone to live safely and securely with families and communities who, unashamed and unabashed, look to the future with hope.
That we have been successful in this is unchallenged. Let us not, then, in the spirit of ANZAC turn our back on those refugees who seek exactly the same thing.
