18- The vision of glory

Adelaide is often referred to as the "City of Churches" but few us know many or, indeed, any of the riches in the these building. The principal Church, St Peter's Anglican Cathedral, on King William Road at North Adelaide has a number of treasures.
Chief, but often overlooked is the great wooden reredos behind the main altar. Built in Exeter, England it is a striking work of art of a type and quality seldom seen outside Europe
