Politics is back

I have no desire to defend any illegality that former Speaker, Peter Slipper, may have committed. 
But if, in the end, what they are going to ping him with is rorting his expense account by a couple of thousand dollars; then I hope all his Parliamentary colleagues are standing prepared for the same level of scrutiny of their rorts.
I hope also that Whips from both sides of politics will stand ready to justify to the Australian public why probably hundreds of thousands of dollars of Parliamentary time have been spent debating this and chasing this debacle to its death knoll (or should that be knell?).
